		<description>Same thing here. Vmware just ate my keys... Really annoying.  

The solution was simple though. Just went to Gnome&#039;s keyboard preferences switched my layout to anything, applied and then switched back.

		<description>Hey I find /usr/bin/setxkbmap works once I&#039;ve left VMWare. 
Still a bit of a pain but I tend to boot a vm, do something in windows then leave so it&#039;s not too bad.
(8.04 as well)</description>
