HTTPS is now going to be on always for everyone by default. You will have choose "Don't always use https" from the Settings menu to turn it off. Not that anyone should.

The old school gaming theme was cool last time. But this time the passes and t-shirts were really nice and professional look. Glad I got one. Discovering Haiku was interesting and the Gnome 3 presentation was awesome!

I do not like when it seems some instructions leave out a crucial piece. It makes me wonder sometimes if I did something a little different. Like in my Apache/PHP on Windows install post. There are instructions for that but didn't tell me I had to give permission to access the PHP in httpd.conf, thus error. Although, going back now I see a comment at the bottom of the page from 2006 telling you to do that.

I used to use the one I posted above all the time. I haven't tried it recently but it doesn't work on Mosso/Rackspace Cloud. The one in the post does.

I am guilty of using zip too much. Less to type "zip -r file source" and "unzip file". But usually I'm not trying to archive I'm just moving stuff around. However if I would practice compression better, when I have to download and reupload stuff I'm moving through FTP, it would go faster. Maybe I just should connect to the other location through the shell? Oh bad habits.

I think a better explanation for what -nd is what is "do not keep the hierarchy of directories just put all files from anywhere specified into the single destination directory. A note, files with same name will have extra extensions appended.". The np option is probably what I've been looking for since it usually downloads more than what I need. Some sites I have mirrored where full sites in a sub directory but had images in a higher directory. I had to go back after mirroring and readjust paths because I was moving the site to it's own domain in root. That's a pain.

I like to follow the no top posting and the short sig guidelines. My sig is about 8 lines or something. Full title, address, company, etc but when I reply further on in conversation I just leave my name title and company name. If I quote someone on a forum I just keep their sentence I'm referencing to. I hate when someone quotes a full article post in the response, it can make things hard to read. Also if you receive a password from someone in email, PLEASE remove the information when replying. Otherwise your credentials are passed back and forth and sometimes end up in CCs to others. If you can, use encryption.

Same thing here. Vmware just ate my keys... Really annoying.

The solution was simple though. Just went to Gnome's keyboard preferences switched my layout to anything, applied and then switched back.

Hope this works for you guys!
